Details for Michigan

Filed under: Uncategorized — marisaandscott @ 10:01 pm

Yesterday we gathered in Freedom Park to celebrate Scott’s life. It was an absolutely perfect day! We were so thankful that so many of our friends and family were able to join us. I’ll share more about it later, but wanted to get a quick post up with the details for the Michigan service. It will be held this Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:00pm on the football field at Albion College, Albion, MI.

More to come…

  1. Marisa, I am sorry I was not able to attend the service. I heard every detail from a friend and it sounded just beautiful. She said the service was so peaceful and the presence of our Lord was fully evident. She said it would get so hot and then the Lord would send a nice breeze to cool you off. She said that she was amazed with all the men that were there testifying about Scott’s life and how he impacted them. She said there were children, so many children, running around and happy. She said Cole got up to play “When The Saints Go Marching In” and that made me marvel at the strength that your young man had. I saw him today in fact and he is growing his hair out and looks so much older. In the dining hall, Max challenged me to another arm wrestling contest and his table mates at lunch were drumming his name with their hands, in hopes that he would win against me, of course he did, but he sure was laughing the whole time, a full body laugh. I made him show us all his muscle and of course wel ooh’d and ahh’d. I think whenever Max sees me, he will always offer that arm wrestling challenge.

You are blessed and you know it. That is the gift, you know it, you and Scott were aware, lived it, saw it and accepted it until the end. You are blessed and will continue to be blessed all the days of your life, from here on out. I pledge to look after your sweet boys when they are in my care and each day they walk the grounds of PDS. Cole will be in MS, but I will still look after him, as will so many others. Max will be within our arms a bit longer but rest assured, they are safe and loved within our midst.

You let us (me) know if there is anything at all that you or your boys need and we (I) will help. You are one strong woman and you and Scott have built a strong foundation that shines in your precious boys.

    xoxo,

  3. It was a very wonderful service. I was very struck by the warm and strong community you have in Charlotte. I loved hearing from your neighbors, especially the guys, about life with the Ammons and their steadfast frienddship with all of you the past two years. I was greatly comforted by this because it seems to me like you just moved from Richmond, and how could it be possible for so much good to spring up so quickly around you to care for you and Scott and the boys during this time. But you landed in the right place. You all remain in my thoughts and prayers. MJ
